This is a series of portraits based on photos from social media platforms. Most of the references are from the Telegram group Cane-Yo: public reference. In this group, people posted photos they thought artists might find interesting. I was especially intrigued by the many self-portraits posted. A particular form of aesthetic seemed to be emerging from the media constraints of mobile devices and the context of the group.
In most cases, these paintings were executed alla prima, although I sometimes correct or reinforce some aspects in a second session.
